Proxy Media

Optional 1080p, 720p, 540p, or compatible custom proxies are cancellable derived media. Their manifest records source hash/reference, relative path, preset/encoder, source/proxy frame rate and duration, derivation, and completion.

Timing and source provenance are preserved. A proxy never replaces the original, can be regenerated, and analysis records which representation it used.
