Feature Extraction

Phase 9 adds versioned research extractors for geometry, texture, frequency, shape complexity, motion, temporal behavior, and context. Each descriptor declares its inputs, outputs, range, missing-data behavior, cost, determinism, integrity hash, and documentation reference.

Features operate on a detection crop with configurable context padding. The record preserves original and expanded boxes, boundary contact, effective pixels, and whether a too-small crop was skipped.

Phase 5 provides deterministic baseline geometry, entropy/edge/texture, frequency-energy proxy, shape-complexity, and semantic evidence structures. They are replaceable research measurements, not scientifically validated classifiers. Accelerate-compatible module boundaries allow future vDSP adapters without coupling DatasetManager to image frameworks.
