Privacy Policy

This policy describes the current native iOS and Android implementation represented in this repository. If future releases add accounts, cloud processing, analytics, subscriptions, or new partners, this policy must be updated before those features are made available.

1. Plain-language summary

Aura is a wellness prototype that turns a reflection and optional signals into a color-based aura reading and lightweight wellness suggestion. In the current build, the app does not create a user account, connect to an Aura-operated backend, or include third-party advertising or analytics software.

Journal entries are used while the app is open. When a user chooses to save an aura reading, the resulting reading and settings are stored locally on that device. Aura can optionally read approved Apple HealthKit or Android Health Connect signals. The user can turn those signals off and reset local Aura data from Settings.

Important: Aura supports general wellness and self-reflection. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental-health condition.

2. Information Aura handles

Information the user provides

Written journal or check-in text entered in the app.
A self-selected mood such as Calm, Open, Tender, Focused, Activated, or Heavy.
Optional settings, custom aura labels, and personalization choices.
Share-card choices and any information the user intentionally sends through the device sharing tools.

Optional device and wellness signals

Apple HealthKit: sleep, steps, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, exercise, and mindfulness information that the user separately approves.
Android Health Connect: sleep, steps, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, and mindfulness information that the user separately approves.
Microphone and camera: the current interface contains optional voice-tone and facial-cue controls. Live audio/video analysis is a prototype concept and is not implemented as an Aura cloud collection service in this repository.

Information not collected by the current code

The reviewed repository does not contain an Aura user-account system, cloud database, advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, location tracking, contact-book access, or payment processing.

3. How information is used

Aura uses enabled information to provide the feature the user requested. This includes displaying the check-in, generating the prototype aura explanation, showing which signals are on or off, saving selected readings locally, presenting history, remembering settings, and creating a share card.

Health information is used only to add optional wellness context to an aura reading. Aura does not use health information for advertising, sell it to data brokers, or use it to make medical decisions.

4. Local storage, retention, and deletion

On iOS, app settings and saved aura readings are stored through local device preferences. On Android, they are stored through local app preferences. The data remains until the user deletes saved readings, selects Reset local Aura data, removes the app, or clears the app's storage through device settings.

The current app does not provide an Aura cloud account, so there is no remote Aura account record to delete. If a future release introduces accounts or server storage, it must provide appropriate account and data-deletion controls and update this policy.

6. Permissions and user choices

Users can leave microphone, camera, and wearable signals off and continue using text or mood choices.
Apple Health and Health Connect permissions are controlled by the operating system and may be revoked through device settings.
Wearable signals can be disconnected inside Aura Settings.
Saved readings can be deleted and local Aura data can be reset from inside the app.
Share-card details remain selectable before a user confirms sharing.

7. Security, international use, and children

Aura uses the security protections supplied by iOS and Android for local app storage and protected health stores. No method of storage is completely secure, so users should protect their device with a passcode and keep its operating system current.

Aura is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum digital-consent age required in a user's country. The current app does not knowingly create child profiles or collect children's information through an Aura account service.

8. Changes and contact

We may revise this policy as Aura changes. The effective date at the top will be updated when material changes are published. Users should review the current version before enabling newly introduced data features.

Privacy and support requests should be sent through the developer contact listed on Aura's current Apple App Store or Google Play listing. Include the app version, device platform, and a description of the request. Do not include private journal or health details unless they are necessary to resolve the request.

Transparent aura explanation

Local history and insights

Saved readings form a local history view. The app shows sample patterns until a user saves readings, then stores the user's reading summaries on that device.

Deliberate sharing

Share-card controls let the user decide whether a color, summary, support note, or activity leaves Aura. Sharing occurs only after a user chooses a system destination or copies the text.

Settings and local reset

The iPhone app can request read-only access to approved sleep, steps, heart-rate, HRV, exercise, and mindfulness signals. Some of that information may have originated from an Apple Watch, but Aura does not run on the watch.

Terms of Use

These Terms govern use of the current Aura Daily Wellness app and this website. By using Aura, the user agrees to these Terms. If the user does not agree, they should not use the app.

Wellness purpose

Aura provides general wellness, self-reflection, color-based insights, and lightweight mindfulness suggestions. Aura is not a medical device, healthcare provider, therapist, emergency service, or substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Emergencies

Do not rely on Aura during an emergency or crisis. Contact local emergency services, a qualified healthcare professional, or an appropriate crisis resource when immediate help may be needed.

Eligibility

Users must be legally permitted to use the app and able to agree to these Terms. Aura is not directed to children under 13 or below the applicable minimum digital-consent age.

User responsibility

Users are responsible for their device, the accuracy and appropriateness of information they enter, and decisions made based on wellness content. Users must not misuse Aura, interfere with the app, or attempt unauthorized access.

Permissions and health data

Optional device permissions are controlled by the user and operating system. Users should enable only the signals they want Aura to use and may revoke permissions through device settings.

Sharing

Users control whether and where they share an aura card. They are responsible for reviewing the preview and for any consequences of sending information to another person or third-party service.

Premium and demo features

Connections and Smart Home are prototype demonstrations in the current build. They may not connect to real people, services, subscriptions, or devices. No Apple Watch or Wear OS app is included.

Availability and changes

Aura may change, suspend, or discontinue features. Prototype results, suggestions, animations, and integrations may contain errors or operate differently across devices. Users should keep their app and operating system current.

Intellectual property

Aura's software, design, visual identity, text, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant only a limited, personal, revocable right to use the app as provided.

Third-party services

Apple Health, Health Connect, device sharing destinations, messaging services, app stores, and connected services are controlled by third parties and governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aura is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that results will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, secure, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Aura developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss arising from reliance on wellness content, shared information, device permissions, or unavailable features.

Termination

A user may stop using Aura at any time and remove local data through the app or by uninstalling it. Access may be limited or ended if these Terms are violated or if necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.

Applicable law

These Terms are governed by applicable law without limiting any consumer rights that cannot legally be waived. Any venue or dispute requirement must comply with the law that applies to the user and developer.

Changes and contact

Material updates will be reflected by a new effective date. Questions should be sent through the developer contact on Aura's current Apple App Store or Google Play listing.
